The whole people assuming a road is ungritted because they happen to have not seen a gritter and the road is bad is once again starting to get my goat!!! I know for a fact (Father working gritting callout for years) they have been out gritting in this area during most of the bad weather for the last several years and there are always people still saying they haven't!!! They just seem to be easy targets for a lot of people!!

Just because you've not seen it doesn't mean its not been past when you have not been looking. Gritters are not some magical vehicle that stops all effects of snowfall, you grit to early and the salt is washed/driven off the road and the snow settles, you grit after it starts to settle and you are to late, the snowfall is to heavy and it settles anyway. The council around here HAVE been out gritting and are whenever there is a risk of icy roads never mind heavy snowfall.

As it stands we have had no snow although it's been Brass Monkeys.
