Re: Series Renewed / Cancelled 2010

Already cancelled, but yet to be fully broadcast:

Syfy US will be burning off the final five "Caprica" episodes on the 4th of January.

No word yet on when it'll be shown in the UK.

Not yet cancelled, but more & more likely to be:

NBC's "The Event" will be taking a THREE MONTH HIATUS after the broadcast of episode 10 on the 29th of November. A clip-show will be shown on the 28th of February, and the series-proper will resume on the 7th of March with episode 11.

In case that feels familiar, it's basically what ABC did with "FlashForward", last season's attempt at creating "a new Lost".

And, like "FlashForward" before it, "The Event" has been haemorrhaging viewers week after week after week.

The ratings stink (worse than FF's!), and having a three-month hiatus, no matter how much the series is "re-worked" will not help it. "Genre"/"Cult" shows simply do not benefit from enormous mid-season breaks...especially shows which have a strong story-arc & require you to watch it every week...

I predict that "The Event" will be cancelled during the second half of the season.
