I found it quite ironic when our Turkish neighbour, who has recently gained UK citizenship, goes on and on about "Bloody foreigners coming over here taking our jobs".

He recently missed out on a post that went first to a Polish guy, then to a Somali... from an application list over over 300 most of whom the employer stated were "non-UK nationals".

From that I get the idea that "UK nationals" did not want the job, which pays well with good benefits and hours, but sounded a bit "menial".
