You can always find an individual nut-job rent-a-quote. It doesn't mean that the intelligent thing to do is to treat their words as mainstream and significant, just because they happen to fit your personal prejudice.

So because he's a nut job I'm to blame for quoting him? you know for certain that it's not true?
where in Shahid's statement does he say that it's not true for all Muslims?
don't many muslims have different opinions of things as it is, where some may believe one thing is forbidden, and the rest think it's not?
Dewsbury MP Shahid Malik, the Governments first-ever Muslim minister, said: As patron of the Royal British Legion in Dewsbury Ill be selling poppies in the town centre this Saturday. I think its really important to remember the freedoms we enjoy come at a price and sometimes the ultimate price.
The truth is that no matter what your background, we all must remember that people died for this country and the freedoms we hold dear and that is why Im proud to wear my poppy.
He's not a nut job so we take what he says as being true, and for all. as far as I can tell he is speaking for himself. and he suggests.
and this part that Hugh put in his post was not said by either. it was said by the person who wrote the article.
However, other Muslims in Britain so not share the same opinion.

You have no justification for claiming there's a doubt about the acceptability of putting a poppy on a Mosque, just because you managed to dig up a quote by someone who asserts it.

Of course I do.
