Andrew, the response from RTÉ was "that plan was over-ruled in favour of an international online player service" which implies that they allow access to at least some programming on-line anywhere in the world so it would surely not be an issue for Virgin Media to carry the same service using the cable TV system.

Do you know nothing? The GAA do not approve of armchair sportsmen. You either play the game in the spilling rain or you support it standing up in the rain. It's only stringent health and safety regulations that forced them to introduce headgear for players and seating at Croke Park. They still managed to keep Hill 16 as terraces, as it is considered a national monument, but for soccer games it is either closed off or temporary seating is fitted to appease UEFA.
