That's the direct link for the 'chipset utility' which should be installed first after the OS. Hopefully that will help.
Ive downloaded the Chipset as you suggested, and I ran it on the laptop.

When its running it says

"Windows Has found new hardware, it then asks me for the disk that came with my Ethernet Controller, as I dont have one I selected for windows to search, and it couldnt find one.

I'm still no better off and getting very frustrated
