That's what I begining to think - it stands to reason that newer kit would more fault tolerant. The problem only seems to exist on the optical output though, having read other threads for the audio cutouts. HDMI seems fine, which suggests that perhaps the fault may lie in the optical output of the V+ box, perhaps in the drivers? Depends how the optical out is driven compared to HDMI.
