A lot of Sky customers suspected this was going to happen when they changed the structure of the HD pack but it didn't happen, a rough calc says they generate about £300m a year from the HD charge, I personally don't think the charge will be dropped anytime soon but we will see.
If they did drop their charge but insisted VM customers paid it I think even the pretty ineffective OFCOM would intervene.
