Sugar Kane...

The way the On Demand rights work is VM can put up a certain amount of episodes at any one time, so for example, if a series has 20 episodes, then VM will usually show eps 1-5, then 6-10 etc, etc.

If there are any missing episodes in between then this is a fault, i.e eps 1, 2, 4 and 5 are listed with 3 missing.

If this happens then we can get this re-added from the supplier, HBO etc. Sometimes it can be just a particular regional head-end that has the lost programme.

We now have better monitoring tools for lost episodes and this should improve now.

Hope I've answered your question

I understand that series are uploaded gradually, I just have a problem with the fact that all to often, half a series of something is uploaded and then it disappears altogether. Last year Fringe series 1 was uploaded in it's entirety. I began watching it, and without warning, the show vanished before its 'expiry date'. Months later, it shows up again, and by then I had forgotten what I had already seen.

Now half a season of The Wire is uploaded, and that is all you get. It's gone again. The most annoying aspect of this is that there is no information available to me about when I can expect to see the second half of the series. If this is the bind VM are in, then why don't they publicise their new content as 'the first half' of the series and keep us informed of when we can expect to see the second half. I don't particularly want to have to wait so long that I forget what has happened in the 13 episodes I have previously seen before I get to see the remaining ones. Rights issues or not- in my book this sevice is far from good, it is erratic at best.
