I've wanted a tablet style device to read books etc on for ages, in fact that's the only reason I really wanted an iPad.

I just can't justify the price

Are ALL books cheaper on the Kindle? If I decide I don't like it can I transfer my books to another format (for example, could I import them into iBooks if I chose to get one eventually)?
