I'm in the (enviable?) position of having both a Kindle 2 & a Kindle 3 to play with...

Quite surprised, really, I placed the order for the new one on 27th September, expecting a two week delay - it arrived today !!!

At the moment, because both devices are registered to the same account I was able to download all the books I purchased for the 'old' Kindle to the new one from the archive on Amazon's server via 3G.

Presumably if I re-register the old kindle for exclusive use by Mrs Gaz, those books will only be available to me on the new device.

Regarding the difference between the two, the new Kindle 3 has a noticeably better contrast on the display - not that the kindle 2 was lacking, just that the new one is definitely improved.
