Devices marked with the HomePlug certification mark (IEEE 1901 powerline standard) should interoperate with each other.
Other, mainly older products will not due to non standardisation on this technology.

The new IEEE 1901 powerline standard is due to be taken up by all manufacturers going forward so problems like this should not happen in the future.
