Re: It's English innit !!!
I have to say, I saw this story earlier on and whilst watching the Channel 4 news I thought I would start a topic about it. I was beaten to it ha ha!
Where I work, it is just up the road from the main train station. Whilst out having a smoke I quite often get asked for directions. Mainly for the legalisation offices.
In the main, it is people from overseas. They make an effort and i can understand them on the whole.
Yesterday, I was asked by some 'locals' for directions to the driving test centre. It went along the lines of --
Yo, you know where da test centa is innit blud?
Pardon?
Da driving test centa, where is it bro?
I think it is further up the street if I have understood you correctly.
Wikkid.
This country. You only have to watch EastEnders (shudders, not my choice) and you can see where they get it from.
If this is the generation that is going to take us forward when I am getting older, God help us.
