Thanks Jo, it's been lying around in a workshop for several years so it is well dried out. The grain is split at the ends but it's a pretty big slab so there should be more than enough useful wood for one or maybe two bodies. It must have been a piece of furniture at some point, looks like it may have been some kind of worktop or bench. It is a nice grain as your John says so definitely a contender for natural finish

@LR: the dining room furniture here is Yew, don't give me any ideas
