Have a look in Tools->quarantined items and see if anything is listed there. You may have to click View to see them.

Are you running Vista Defirish, Defender has changed a bit in 7 compared to Vista. You need to look at the Software Explorer section to see if anything is blocked at start up (which it could be for a number of reasons like unsigned or requesting Admin privileges)
