I cant see anyother way than to buy smaller bolts, hopefully my hardware store will have some, if not, i probably have no option but to cut them down to size as some suggested.

no ,you are putting the spacers in the wrong place ,the spacers go between the back of the tv and the brackets ,where you have the washers in your photo,remove the washers ,you may not need them ,in there place use the solid spacers they will fit i promise
