Also I just a got a reply from Virgin Media on twitter and according to them you can have the HD Channels on any box! Doesn't have to be the main one!
Yes agree I have just being told the same as long as your 2nd is VHD Box.

Also for those who feel disappointed that the 2nd VHD box does not also come with Sky HD Prem Channels - compared to Sky you have to pay £10 per HD package i.e. per box and another £10 per multi room plus the 2nd HD box costs a £199 one off fee.

We just pay an extra £7 on the 2nd box and one off £49 - I know what option I would go for.
