I mean we are not talking about Sky sports or movies here, and look at the furore over the £7pm charge for these premium channels, at least for that you got twelve channels of the latest movies and best sport in HD, I cannot imagine people shelling out anymore than two or three pounds a month for these mediocre channels.

When I read about these new ITV HD channels it didn't cross my mind that they expect people to pay extra for them. Don't think many people would pay for these if they did.
I assumed by stating they were going into the pay TV market with them it was a way of saying they wont be on freeview but on Sky/VM/BT etc instead. These would be bundled in with existing packages and not asking the subscribers to pay extra. Otherwise they will end up with the proverbial egg on their face when hardly anyone signs up.
