I can understand why Adam Crozier is moving ITV into the pay-TV market, but is there really going to be a viable market for ITV-2-3-4 in HD.
I mean we are not talking about Sky sports or movies here, and look at the furore over the £7pm charge for these premium channels, at least for that you got twelve channels of the latest movies and best sport in HD, I cannot imagine people shelling out anymore than two or three pounds a month for these mediocre channels.
I'm thinking of Arthur Daly in HD along with George Sewell in UFO on moon-base one in HD, a very niche market indeed.
Oops almost forgot a big selling point for some folks could be Jim Bowen in Bullseye now available in glorious high definition, imagine it, you could see the same old speedboat wheeled out in superb clarity accompanied by the dulcet tones of old Jim saying, "never mind folks lets see what you could've won"
