Point being why do we have cars that will do such speeds. What is the point or use for them. In terms of safety cars have got better & better where speed limits have got progressively lower.
I cycle most days so driving is not really an issue for me.
I specifically mentioned out of town and built up areas which you omitted in the quote. Town speed limits are sensible because of pedestrians.
