First post here but just a few observations and concerns.
Firstly if anyone's undecided about paying the extra for HD ,compare film4 and film4HD tomorrow.If you feel the difference is worth £7 then subscribe if no then don't.Film4 on SD is excellent(through v+ box) as are the sky sports channels unlike eurosport's poor quality where the difference with eurosport HD is huge, I suspect like myself,most will decide that SD on sky sports is good enough especially if you have a quality Japanese Plasma not a harsh LCD,and you're sitting more than 3 foot away from it.
I am disapointed but if i was going to shell out more i would pay for more content ie picturebox rather than marginally improved quality.
Talk of content brings me nicely to my concerns.
1.Big Red mentioned many pages back that red button services would not be ready for launch but would be ready for champions league.
As the launch date for sky sports was many moons ago are we to presume that red button sevices will only be available to HD subscribers.This will severely p me off as i've waited a long time for match choice,as i said content for me every day.
2.If there aren't enough takers for HD might VM reduce SD sky sports quality and force us on board?
3.When i first took the second box i was told that the channels available to both boxes would always be the same as it works as a network.Goalposts have clearly moved there with the £7 PER box so is this the thin end of the wedge.We my get charged separate premium subscriptions at some point in the future,who knows?
