The OFCOM investigation recommended (didn't set, but recommended) that the wholesale price of Sky HD Premium content was £5.89 + VAT.

If the wholesale price is indeed that, then Virgin aren't making that much profit at charging £7.

As for the 'per box' madness, this is what Sky do to their own customers, Sky customers have to pay the £10 HD charge per box.

I can only assume that part of the recent Sky-VM deal means that VM must do embrace the HD charge per box, otherwise VM would look insanely great value for money compared to Sky, and Sky won't allow that.
