I've just went back through the releases in the Virgin Media Press Office.

"IF" Virgin are planning to charge customers on all packages £7.00 how on Earth are Virgin going to explain away the following statements that appeared in the editors notes for their announcements of Discovery HD, E4HD, Film4 HD, ITV HD, SYFY HD and the V HD box?

"Unlike other providers, Virgin Media does not charge for HD channels, with all XL TV customers able to receive HD versions of their favourite channels at no extra cost."

"There are no on-going monthly HD subscription charges for customers whose sole set-top box is the V HD Box."

Nothing is confirmed as of yet, and sure we're all jumping the gun, however you can understand why people are not happy with the rumoured subscription charges for HD. People will argue you shouldn't expect anything for free but why not? It's clearly the message Virgin have been putting out for sometime. We expect it for free as Virgin have been continually telling us HD with them is free.

"All XL TV customers able to receive HD versions of their favourite channels at no extra cost". I'm an XL customer and my favourite channels are SKY Sports 1 and 2, I expect them at no extra cost because Virgin told me I'd get them at no extra cost.

I didn't see anything anywhere that would suggest to a customer that one day HD wouldn't be free with Virgin.
