Another factor is that there is a large and thriving drug industry in Hollywood (caused mainly by the fact that in the 40s, 50s and some extent the 60s, the studios seemingly encouraged drug use as it helped keep their stars under control).
These three have combined on many occasions to cause young stars to fall into a life of drugs. Some get out of it (Carrie Fisher, Kirstie Alley), but a lot don't.
I hope Lindsay is one who does. She can be an attractive girl and I suspect she could be a good actress.

Think Judy Garland is a prime example of one that didnt escape from the earlier days
