i know if you buy a corsair nova series ssd you get a adpator so that you can mount it in a 3.5inch drive space.
my corsair obsidian 800d has hotswap bays on the front of the case and it mounts on to the hdd holder and then slides in, and doesn't require the adaptor but if the drive doesn't come with a adaptor then you can buy them for about £5 or so.
when i installed my ssd my win 7 score for the hdd went from 5.4 to 7.5 iirc.
best bet if you get a ssd is to install on a normal sata drive then clone it to the ssd to, maintain the drives performance rather than loosing it because of the small writes that happen when you install windows and prog's.
