I racked my brains before making that post because I knew that I knew the reason from a long time ago but couldn't remember what it was.
I believe it is not so much that there are no EPG slots available but more that the older Sky boxes have reached their memory capacity and can't download a larger EPG.
Like yourself, I could be wrong on that though.
