All I was pointing out, which I have have done before and been shouted down for, is that VM (actually it's more accurate to say NTL as their board control VM) don't want to be a content provider, they never have and any attempts in the past have been ill thought out then shelved. If they did they would have beefed up the Telewest channels but they didn't and couldn't wait to get shut.
I have no doubt that when the time is right the UKTV channels will also be sold but it's obviously more complicated with it being jointly owned.
I would not be the least bit surprised if when this carriage deal comes to an end we won't be having these discussions as VM will be using their network for far more lucrative activities than linear television, in fact who knows if we will actually be watching linear TV then.
