Re: Cable modem vpn IT problem to Router.

Sounds like you need to set the modem to Bridged mode and the router wan port to dhcp. This will allow the router to gain the external IP and therefore allow you to use no-ip. As to how you set the modem to bridged mode I haven't a clue. Hopefully someone will be along to tell you how or you could just try setting the router to dhcp and see if it gets an internet type ip rather than use 192.168.0.xxx.
