It all depends on area. There are still many ex-Telewest areas where pace4000 is still the main box issued.

The pace4000 gets a lot of bad press but statistically is a more reliable box. Some of these boxes have lasted more than 10 years, I don't think any samsung would last 10 years! However the samsung is a nicer box to use and does look nicer.

Report the box as faulty if it is playing up, then ask the engineer for an upgrade to VHD for £50. Then you are guaranteed the cisco box plus some extra HD channels for no extra monthly fee.
