No hidden changes apart from being migrated to the Googlemail platform, if you want you can change the settings yourself as full instructions are on the website via the same links.
If you are feeling this paranoid about the migration then try another email provider such as
http://www.gmx.com/ or get your own domain for a few pounds a year.
