I reckon this is one of the problems Man City are going to have when attempting to sign new players who are well known/wanted elsewhere. It became evident when Chelsea first started outbidding anyone else and now chairman are thinking "that`s only there first offer, the`ll go higher than that if they
really wan`t him".
Nobody is really at fault because the selling team wan`t as much as they can get and if money is no object to the buyer then what`s another 20% on the price.
Things are starting (well allready are) stupidly crazy whan it comes to player transfers, jeesh it doesn`t seem long ago that Trevor Francis was the first £1 million pound player
p.s. Milner is a fantastic player and would be a great asset to any club, lets hope City do put in that extra few bob. Trouble is nowadays the player himself (along with his agent

) has the final say as to where he plays
