My problem was that the incumbent MP for this area has consistently been receptive to local issues & was the only candidate to take the trouble to come round & knock on my door & ask what my thoughts were, prior to the election.

I decided she would get my vote, despite representing the Labour party, because she has arguably worked hard for her constituents since election in 1997 & I wanted to try & ensure she would still be in Parliament, even if her party were no longer in the majority.
