Re: Low running cost printer?

Check out the Brother HL4040CN colour laser. It may not be the cheapest but for (last I looked) £240 you get a colour network laser with PictBridge etc and it comes with full cartridges (~1500 pages). Support has been excellent and I got 3 yr support with it.
(I got a free replacement magenta cartridge after the supplied one went dodgy)

PCW before they went had it as their top laser. It was only £200 then though.

It also is supported in Linux which was a big must for me.

Downsides : not duplex and can't handle heavy paper.
