I can tell the difference but it really isn't that important to me. A poor game of football doesn't improve in better definition. Similarly I forget if I'm watching in HD or SD if it's an exciting game.

I'm sure I'd feel different if I was watching on a 60 inch screen but on 32 inch it doesn't make enough of a difference for me.

I notice the difference more on some of the nature documentaries but again not enough difference that I'd consider paying extra for it.
