MrGiles2 / Hiroki, everyone knows that even 'boring rubbish' is better in HD!

I've taken to watching EuroNews on 620 recently as the 'local' news channels have become very parochial, repeatedly covering MPs expenses, education issues and now the election campaigns, leaving little time for anything else.
There have been some very serious events in the UK and worldwide which, on the UK channels, were either not covered at all, made it to the news very late or only made it into one or two bulletins before dropping off the list. Some items were shown on the 'ticker' on BBC News but were never read out.
The initial eruption of the volcano in Iceland and several other serious issues in Europe and elsewhere in the world, failed to make the BBC News for a day or two and, in some cases, not at all. I haven't been checking Sky of late, mostly because I don't like the format anymore.
Admittedly EuroNews has a quirky format but good content with additional little informative pieces. It makes me feel like I'm on holiday!
