A similar thing happened to me ,i have been doing my job for 25 yrs or so but still had get a NVQ2 to say i knew how to do it ,and believe me i could have taught the examiner a thing or two
As pointed out, this may be an insurance thing. I agree that it sounds silly, but I guess it's just one of those things that can't be avoided.
