No it's still up the the Doctor treating you. As far as I understand more Doctors are willing to try to respect your wishes but some will insist on trying every avenue.

My Father had requested no further intervention and his Hospital Consultant interviewed both my Father and I before he cancelled the intravenous medications and fluids that were keeping him alive. That Consultant was the person who convinced me that I needed to make a Living Will if I didn't want my family, and any Doctor to have to go through the same traumatic experience.
