The amount of reliance on Sky's TV money and the level of debt and reliance on sugar daddies amongst the clubs says otherwise. The Premier League themselves along with several other sports bodies also say otherwise.

Sky is not 'very expensive' given the investment in content, and regardless the issue isn't Sky's retail prices.
