I wouldn't have thought it was as many as you might think - his sexuality was one of the worst kept secrets for years, he was expected to come out just after he left his boyband. I don't have any doubts it was kept under wraps to maximise potential sales for girls but I doubt many were fooled.
What I can't stand is celebrities who we
know are gay, we've accepted them as such yet they dance around the issue. Dale Winton was an example, he kept saying "I know people think I'm gay but I'm not saying" for years but really, was that ever going to damage his career? Dale Winton?!
Mika is another one, for years he wouldn't confirm or deny and finally he came out and said "oh ok.....I don't like labels but if you must call me anything, call me bisexual" when he is in fact gay.
I can understand it when a celebrity is marketed as straight and they are worried about coming out might lose them fans but when it's pretty obvious (or at least they're already accepted as ambiguous) then I think they're just being delusional.
