Well Martin Whitmarsh said that it was Jenson's choice, so Jenson's choice it was. Putting it any other way is just semantics
. Also he didn't decide he was going to get tyres, he merely decided when he wanted them, added to the fact he/everybody started on intermediates only he would know if the combination of track condition and his own driving style at a given point would be compatible with slick tyres.
As to Hamilton, I would agree that he seems to have developed his arrogant streak more, I put it like that as IMHO he's always had it. It's just with his dad not managing him anymore I get the feeling that there's nothing to supress it.

I'm just gratefull that Alonso showed himself up at the start, and that he didn't cause any damage to JB.
