I haven't actually tried any of the N class wireless routers, however I've been a long-term user of Linksys routers and have been very happy with them.
Personally I'd pick one of the Linksys models and then reflash the firmware with DD-WRT. DD-WRT turns a distinctly average, stock Linksys into a
very good home router.
I've also heard good things about some of the Buffalo kit, if Linksys doesn't float your boat ... so to speak.
DD-WRT also sell routers pre-installed with their firmware, which avoids any risk of unfortunate mishaps whilst installing new firmware.
