This is most likely to be a problem with XP, one which i hasten to add Microsoft still haven't fixed. If you have an Intel wireless adapter built in to the laptop then its likely that there is no permanent fix for it. There is something you can do however.
Change your Security mode to WPA (TKIP) this should then connect OK with no dropouts. I would advise using a long passkey, perhaps 22-26 characters long alphnumeric with some special characters in there as well. This may seem a little OTT but, this is the safest option if you don't take your security serious nobody else will.
This is of course all dependant on whether your other equipment supports it.

Tried changing the security settings to TKIP, but it was still the same. Can connect, but kicked off after exactly three minutes!!
