It's not as bad, things are getting worse though. I've gone from being able to do a full case in about 30 minutes for something simple to almost 2 hours now.
For the most simple cases, shoplifting, drugs possession etc. you need to have information like ethnic backgrounds for all witnesses even if it has absolutely no relevance to the case.

For anything complex 3-4 hours would be realistic. Something simple like a breach of bail conditions or simple assault could possibly be done in an hour if you are half-way competent.
