Actually, I was out getting stupidly drunk for some very good reasons - I was with my family and friends (even my 18 year old son hung about until 1am, then went to his friends), and we were enjoying each others company, and having a good time, and we shared happy times and memories (and as we were at a restaurant, we were helping the struggling economy at the same time - I like to multi-task
).
It's OK for people to enjoy themselves without having to don sack-cloth and ashes, you know - it's about sharing the joy, not the misery (imho).
