While I can understand why they do this (a lot of content isn't available in HD to the companies), it sometimes seems a bit of a cheat. You wouldn't buy a brand new CD player and expect the record companies to start issuing CDs made from cassettes. You expect the full CD quality, or a disclaimer that the quality may not be all that good (I know CDs are created from the master tapes, but even where these are not good quality, there is often a disclaimer on the CD).
