No probs, the model number will allow anyone to go only and grab the hardware specs of the laptop.
If it hasn't got ethernet built in then there are options like USB or PCMCIA ethernet cards. Or if you have/aquire a wifi router then you can use (if fitted) an internal wifi chipset or even usb dongle
You can though go back to using the USB modem as Moldova has provided you with the driver in
