Finally all the cost cutting has bitten an IT firm back after HP an IBM Z10 at EDS's Stockley Park site, west of London, fell over this week after vital microcode fixes had not been applied, because
all the qualified staff had been fired.
They tried to switch to the fallback but survey says... "a similar lack of maintenance scuppered the stand-in machine."

Currently being an out of work IT technical expert and knowing that I have been 'let go' without being replaced before now I find it very difficult to have any sympathy for HP in this case. (Hell, I'm having enough trouble not walking around with large grin on my face
