At a time when our forces are clearly overstretched and HMG doesn't look like giving up on the curious notion that the UK is still a top global military power, is now the right time to make cuts?

The NAO report highlighted the serious cost of delays such as that involved in the project for the new Queen Elizabeth Class aircraft carrier:
