I think the issue is something to do with either the router or modem not liking multiple connections (when the connection is bad).

I can download one single file from the blueyonder gamesfile site at around 3-4MB/s, but open a second or 3rd and if they start, they run at <20KB/s and the first one slows down to around 1.5MB/s.

I see the same thing when web browsing say the BBC site. I can see in the browser status bar each connection being opened for an image (its that slow), yet the main body of the site loads relatively quickly.

Sometimes I can get around 30mins of full speed downloading without and issue, but then it goes slow for hours, with no amount of rebooting helping.
