The Carling Cup won't deflect the criticism he will get if he finishes with out a trophy at the end of this season. If he played his first team he would have been accused of desperation anyway, might as well keep to the tradition he keeps too in this Cup.
The press have been complaining about Arsenal again but this result was expected and fair. It's not a crisis for our 2nd string team to lose to the Man City first team. Other results have been unlucky but they were away to Sunderland (who almost won at United and beat Liverpool) and Chelsea (who are going to win the league) and it's not as if we were shown up in the Chelsea game in manor we were last season against United.
We're still having a good season. Especially considering everyone had written us off at the start of the season as no longer top 4 side (which was a stupid statement from Journalists who seem not to know anything about football).
